The United Party for National Development-UPND has scooped the Buntungwa Ward seat in Kankoyo Constituency, Mufulira District on the Copperbelt Province.

This was during the by elections held today.

Larson Kunda scooped the Buntungwa seat beating six other candidates.

Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- Returning Officer, for Buntungwa Ward, Christine Chirwa declared the UPND candidate as duly elected Councilor.

Mr. Kunda polled 635 out of the 975 votes.

And Andrew Zulu from the Socialist Party came second after polling 138 votes, while Edward Zulu an independent Candidate polled 121 votes.

Meanwhile, Malwa Maliseni from the Leadership Movement polled 9 votes, Kennedy Simanje had 18 votes, Simpasa Collins, Patriotic Front-PF-polled 4 votes while an independent Candidate Khoza Andrew got 24 votes respectively.
