A 32 year old man of Mastered Village, Chief Zumwanda, Lumezi District in Eastern Province has died after falling off a moving vehicle
Muzondi Daka was one of the 30 passengers on the Dutro Hino which was being driven by Aaron Nyirenda 40, of Chiphazi Compound in Lundazi’s Mphamba Chiefdom.
The accident happened on June 20, 2025, around 21:30 hours at Kumbumba Village, 1 kilometre north of Lumezi store, along Chipata – Lundazi road, and the truck was traveling from Lumezi to Lundazi.
Eastern Province Commissioner of Police has confirmed the incident and that 29 other passengers escaped unhurt.
The road traffic accident happened when the passenger fell from a moving motor vehicle and sustained head injuries and died on the spot.
The remains of the deceased passenger have been deposited in the Lumezi Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination while the driver of the truck has been detained at Lumezi police post.
