Lusaka Dynamos Ladies FC striker Xiomara Mapepa has joined the Zambia Women’s National Team camp in Marrakech ahead of next week’s 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) Tournament.

Mapepa linked up with the rest of the team that set up camp in Marrakech from Rabat and took part in a recovery session following the Copper Queen’s 6-0 win over Phoenix Marrakech FC in a practice match.

‘Sikamale’ is one of the key members of Bruce Mwape’s squad having emerged Top Scorer in the 2021/22 FAZ Women’s National League with 17 goals and scored the vital goal in the 1-1 draw with Namibia to send the Copper Queens through to the AWCON.

Zambia will launch their AWCON campaign with a Group B fixture against Cameroon on July 3 before fixtures against Tunisia and Togo to follow on July 6 and 9 respectively.
