Government says no Zambian national in South Africa has been affected by the recent anti‑immigrant protests in that country.
Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Princess Kasune said Government continues to issue precautionary messages to Zambians living in South Africa.
Ms. Kasune added that Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe is in talks with his South African counterpart to ensure the safety of Zambians.
South African citizens have launched a series of anti-immigrant protests in major cities with some turning violent against illegal immigrants in that country.
