A six-year -old Karateka by the name of Mwiza Kangwa targets to become the first female Karateka to qualify for the Olympic Games.

Mwiza says Zambia is yet to get representation at that level and is working to become one of the first Zambians to attain the status.

Speaking to ZNBC Sports News the grade one pupil said she chose to join the Sport as a way of gaining self defense skills.

And Kangwa’s father Mwila Kangwa said it is important for parents to allow their children venture into various sports disciplines at a tender age.

And Fun Factory KARATE CLUB proprietor Peter Nwalamba said the club is working with young talent like Kangwa in order to groom karate athletes that will make a difference in the sport.
