(ZNBC) The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has slapped a four-month suspension on Zanaco Football Club midfielder Salulani Phiri for misconduct.

This was during an MTN Super League Week 22 match against Prison Leopards at National Heroes Stadium.

On February 5, 2022, Phiri misconducted himself after he received a red card in the 41st minute when he aggressively threatened the referee by pulling the match official’s shirt.

Phiri has been fined 20-thousand Kwacha but will only serve two months after the committee considered his previous good disciplinary record that has seen his sentence partially suspended in line with Article 33 of the Disciplinary Code.

FAZ Acting General Secretary Iva Lengwe applauded the judicial body for keeping up with the standard of clearing disciplinary matters brought before them

Phiri retains the right to appeal the decision of the Committee within 72 hours notification of the decision in terms of Articles 119, 120 and 121 of the Code.
