A 37-year-old man from Chipata Motel Township has been sentenced to 40 years of imprisonment with hard labor for sexually abusing his six-year-old daughter.
Alistako Zimba was found guilty of sexually abusing his biological daughter, who had been living with him after he took her from her mother’s care.
The particulars are that on an unknown date between September 1 and September 25, 2025, in Chipata, Zimba had unlawful carnal knowledge of the child.
Zimba initially pleaded not guilty in the Subordinate Court to one count of defilement.
However, he was subsequently convicted and committed to the High Court for sentencing.According to court records, the daughter testified that her father abused her on multiple occasions.
She narrated that she began sharing a bed with him after she moved into his home.
“He had sexual intercourse with me several times after I started staying with him. I used to sleep in the same bed as him,” she told the court.
