Health Minister ALEX KATAKWE has cautioned health workers against mistreating or shouting at patients.
Dr. KATAKWE says while patients and their relatives can sometimes be challenging, health personnel have a duty of care and are expected to maintain professionalism at all times.
He was speaking in Livingstone during the commissioning of a maternity annex at Airport Clinic.
The facility was constructed with funding from the Swedish Government through the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Clinton Health Access Initiative -CHAI.
Meanwhile, CHAI Country Director HILDA SHAKWELELE said maternal mortality has declined to below 93 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2025, from 107 recorded in 2021.
And Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency CHRISTINA WEDEKULL said the commissioning in Livingstone marks the completion of seven fully operational health facilities in the province.
