Government has released 800 million Kwacha in school grants for the second quarter of 2026.
Ministry of Education Principal Public Relations Officer Clive Kalunga said the funding underscores Government’s commitment to ensuring that education institutions have the resources needed to deliver quality learning experiences to every pupil.
Mr. Kalunga explained that the grants support schools at all levels and align with the overarching goal of expanding access to education for all Zambians.
He added that the funding enables schools to sustain nutrition programmes, transport support, and other critical services that contribute to pupil attendance and performance.
Mr. Kalunga told ZNBC News that school funding remains a critical pillar in sustaining and improving the Free Education system.
He said by providing essential resources such as instructional materials, educational support, and operational inputs, the grants help reduce barriers to learning and enhance classroom effectiveness.
