A grade eleven pupil at Lufwanyama Boarding School on the Copperbelt has allegedly stabbed a fellow pupil twice on the left part of the chest with a sharp instrument.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba says the victim was allegedly injured around 19 hours yesterday in the dormitories.

Mr. Mweemba says the suspect who is a grade 11 pupil had a difference with a school prefect who is a grade 12 after he tried to control him over school rules.

He says the suspect became unruly and produced a hard laundry hanging wire which he had sharpened and used to it injure his friend.

The Copperbelt Police Commissioner said in a statement that the victim sustained deep wounds from the stabbing.

Mr. Mweemba said the suspect also stabbed another pupil within the same dormitory.

He said the school authorities managed to apprehend the suspect and handed him over to Lufwanyama Police Station where they reported the matter.
