(ZNBC) The Czech Republic has donated maternity medical equipment worth 250,000 Euros to the Women and New Born Hospital at University Teaching Hospital.

Among the donations is an Ambulance filled with maternity medical equipment worthy 70,000 dollars which will be delivered next month.

Czech Minister of Home Affairs Jan Lipausky said the equipment will help in efficient delivery of health services to mothers and newborn babies.

Mr. Lipausky said his country has pledged support towards the health sector in Zambia.

Meanwhile, Health Minister SyLvia Masebo said government is committed to ensuring that good maternity services are delivered in a conducive environment.

Ms. Masebo said the partnership with the Czech Republic will go a long way in helping the country meet its health aspirations.

And Women and Newborn Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent Mukatimwi Munalula has thanked the government for partnering with the Czech Republic to improve the maternity health.
