First Quantum Minerals, based in Canada, is facing a grim situation as tragedy strikes its Zambian operations.
Last week, at First Quantum’s Kansanshi operations, a worker from their contracting partner, Reliant Drilling, lost their life in a devastating incident. It was reported that a fall of ground, caused by an underground dewatering decline, led to this tragic accident.
In another unfortunate event, a contractor lost their life in a light-vehicle accident at Sentinel mine.
As tensions rise amid ongoing protests and allegations of c0rruption surrounding the company’s Cobre Panama mine, First Quantum vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
