Over 1,000 people that were allegedly swindled K36 million by the National Housing Empowerment-NHEF are demanding refunds or alternative land.

NHEF obtained the said money from the public as payment for plots in an area called “Riverdale City” situated in Lusaka’s Leopards Hill Area, but they never got the said plots.

This happened sometime in 2O22.

In an interview with Diamond News, some of the victims whose identities have been concealed for fear of being victimised have expressed concern that nothing has been done.

One of the victims has therefore called on the Drug Enforcement Commission DEC to ensure that this matter is concluded while asking for a refund and alternative land from the real estate firm.

Recently the Commission arrested three Directors of NHEF for obtaining Money by False Pretenses and money laundering involving K 36 million.
