An 82-year-old Headman of Tambula Village in Kalomo District has been shøt dead while having dinner outside his house.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, says John Chikosola was shøt on Sunday around 19:00 hours and sustained multiple wounds on the chest.

Daka explains that investigations have revealed that the deceased was involved in a land dispute with a neighbouring village and the matter was taken before Chief Sipatunyana.

He discloses that the Chief wrote a letter resolving the land dispute which was to be read on the aforementioned date by his representative but the other party did not show up.

The Commissioner adds that Officers rushed to the scene where they found the dead body on the chair in a makeshift shelter.

Daka says the corpse has been deposited at Kalomo Urban Clinic awaiting post-mortem while no arrest has been made yet.
